Web Applications Developer / Jr. Systems Administrator

ProZ.com currently has multiple openings for versatile web applications developers with experience administering Linux systems and LAMP architecture websites.

Where: Downtown Syracuse, New York

Required skills:

3+ years experience in web programming (PHP 5+ preferred)
3+ years experience in database design and programming (MySQL or similar)
Object-oriented MVC development experience (Zend Framework or similar)
Ability to develop code rapidly
Several years experience administering Linux systems and networks
Strong communication skills and writing ability

Desirable skills:

Graphic design and page layout
Usability and SEO expertise
Proficiency with jQuery Javascript library
Experience with CMS systems such as Drupal or Wordpress

This is an on-site contract position, which could lead to full-time employment for the right candidates. Salary DOE. ProZ.com is an equal-opportunity employer.

Customer Assistance and Support

ProZ.com is looking for a talented and enthusiastic person to provide customer service to the community of the world-leading web site related to translation and language.

The job includes:

processing of support requests,
establishing and maintaining good relationships with language service professionals and outsourcers,
encouraging the use of the existing features of the site,
testing functionality of new website features,
promoting ProZ.com events.

We require:

excellent conversation and writing skills in English (other languages a plus),
computer and Internet skill,
the ability to work in teams,
the ability to work remotely (reliable, high speed Internet connection).
