I should add that I set the confidence at "3" only because of the caution regarding context. Otherwise I would set it at "5." Based on the other titles for course sections being offered, it sounds as though this professor is discussing general phenomena and concepts, such as the idea of "gods that arise/appear appear before you." That's not mutually exclusive with the idea of a kami being associated with a particular locale, but it does shift the emphasis to a different aspect of the kami. |

■春日若宮御祭
奈良市の春日大社の摂社若宮神社で、12月15日から18日にかけて行われる祭礼。御祭ともいう。以前は9月、10月、11月に行われたこともあった。『若宮祭礼記』によると、崇徳(すとく)天皇のとき、飢饉(ききん)疫病が続き、関白藤原忠通(ただみち)が勅許を得て、五穀豊饒(ほうじょう)と疫病退散を祈念して保延(ほうえん)2年（1136）の9月17日に若宮を勧請(かんじょう)したのが、御祭の初めとある。保延に始まったので、保延祭ともいわれる。舞楽(ぶがく)、細男(せいのお)、一物(ひとつもの)、猿楽(さるがく)、田楽(でんがく)などの芸能を伴う芸能祭的色彩の濃い祭りである。16日の宵(よい)祭に若宮の御神体を御旅所(おたびしょ)にお迎えし、17日の本祭に御旅所前の芝舞台で各種の芸能が奉納され、18日の後宴では金春(こんぱる)の能が舞われる。この芸能のなかでとくに重視されるのが田楽で、田楽執行にあたっては興福寺の僧侶(そうりょ)が経済的責任をもって取り仕切ることになっていた。田楽が重視されたのは、田楽に五穀豊饒、悪疫退散の意味があり、それが御祭の主旨とも一致するところがあったからだと思われる。今日の五流能の祖は大和(やまと)猿楽だが、大和猿楽はこの祭りを母胎として育てられた。御祭の芸能祭的内容をもった祭礼様式は、日本の祭礼様式に大きな影響を与えており、わが国芸能の発展に果たした役割は大きい。〈後藤 淑〉
