Yahoo Briefcase - http://briefcase.yahoo.com - is an outstanding, flexible FREE resource for anyone wanting to share large files.

The facility is available to anyone with a Yahoo ID. I'm sure that many of us here have (atleast) one. If you don't, then hurry and sign up at http://www.yahoo.com!

Yahoo Briefcase offers 30 MB of free file storage. You can set up multiple folders and organize your project files online.

There is excellent integration with Yahoo's email service, so you can save any email attachments you receive in your briefcase, without having to download them. This can be a very useful feature. How many of us have had their email downloads "choke" because someone sent a big bunch of files that would not download in one go on a slow internet connection.

Now you can save all the attachments to a briefcase and download them one by one at leisure.

You can be equally nice to others too. Instead of sending humungous email attachments, store the files in your "briefcase" and just send the link. I think that a lot of your correspondents will love you more!

In case you are at a loss as to what type of large files you may want to share:

- Job files
- Fonts
- Resumes

- Files you want to 'transport' from office to home (and vice-versa).
- Use it to 'back-up' current projects.

Transferring files to the 'Briefcase' is a cinch - you can either :

- upload files using a form (just follow the "Add Files" link, or
- send yourself an email at your Yahoo ID, and save the attachments to your briefcase.

I belive Hotmail offers a similar service, but I am a hardcore Yahoo fan, so I've never used it.
