Dear colleagues,
I recently switched to OS X and Studio 2014 with Parallels. I still struggling with the keyboard layout. How can I enter non-breaking spaces and en-dashes in Studio on Parallels (preferrably without having to install extra software)?
Many thanks in advance, kind regards, Erik

I don't think this question has anything to do with OS X, but I uploaded a file with special characters shortcuts for OS X and Wind, err, that other OS anyway:

Strangely enough, the OS X shortcut for the non-breaking space isn't mentioned in it, but it's ⌥+SPACE.
Cheers,
Hans
Dear Hans,
Thanks, but this doesn't seem to work here. I should have mentioned that I'm using an existing keyboard from my PC.
I've tried any combinations of special keys (Shift, CTRL, ALT, WINDOWS) and space, but to no avail.
Under OS X (e.g. in Open Office), ALT+Space produces a non-breaking space (confirming what you've said). In MS Word (under Parallels), WINDOWS+ALT+Space does the same. In Studio however, none of these work will work.
Anything else I might be overlooking?
Kind regards, Erik

MacBook Air

On my MacBook Air, when working in Studio run in Parallels, the following shortcuts work on a standard keyboard:
Shift + Ctrl + space for a non-breaking space
and
Alt + 0150 for an en-dash
Does this work for you?
