I was very surprised to notice that fonts (on buttons, in lists etc.) in many CAT tools where hardly legible, after migrating my Windows 8.1 in Parallels Desktop 10 to a new iMac with a Retina screen. Lower resolutions don't "stick" and even a font scaling of 200 % didn't bring a solution.

I've migrated my Parallels VM to VMware Fusion now. Here I can use a lower resolution, while text is still sharp and legible.

So I assume that it's a shortcoming of Parallels.

The following wouldn't help?
