Apple's chief executive, Tim Cook, told the Daily Telegraph that the UK government’s investigatory powers bill, currently going through the scrutiny process, could have “very dire consequences”.

The punchline is that one of the two backdoors in question, "Dual-EC", was originally created by the NSA - rather effectively demonstrating Apple's point about backdoors backfiring so easily! Slightly embarrassing for the FBI and Department of Defense to have their network security compromised by the NSA's own attempts to sabotage others... ▲ Collapse
