Verifika on Mac: is it possible at all?

I'm trying to install Verifika on two different Macs: one with WMware Fusion (latest version) and one with Parallels Desktop 10, both running Windows 8.1.

I get this error message:

Is it possible to run Verifika on a Mac at all?

Support writes:

Usually, Verifika is working under Parallels. But we do not guarantee this and we do not test compatibility.

For the record:

STEP 1:

I've installed the required .NET Framework, looked like it was already installed (since the software offered to repair an installed version). Downloaded via:

www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42642

STEP 2:

Rename the downloaded evaluation version Verifika-x86.msi.exe to Ver... See more
For the record:

Rename the downloaded evaluation version Verifika-x86.msi.exe to Verifika-x86.msi.

STEP 3:

Install Verifika.

STEP 4:

Request a temporarily license, type it manually into the dialogue box.

Hi,

I have been using Verifika in Parallels since 2012 without issues. I'm still using an old version (1.6.4) in Parallels 10 though, so I don't know if anything is broken in newer versions.

It also runs perfectly well with Windows 10. Although the little detour with renaming is still necessary.
