Hi all, I have lots of 100 matches coming from the TM but they are in small letters instead of ALL CAPS, for example, 'Contraindications' instead of 'CONTRAINDICATIONS'. However, I fail to find the 'change case' option anywhere... I just can't believe I should retype all this stuff. Am I missing something? Thanks, Natalia
Not a solution, but a shortcut | Sep 23, 2009 |
Natalie, I only have an old version of Wordfast, so I've no idea whether such an option is available in Wordfast Pro. The only case-related feature I'm aware of in Wordfast is for applying penalties if the case is different, but this is obviously not what you want. The only thing I can suggest, which might save you a little bit of time rather than retyping every word, is to select the target term and then press Shift + F3 - this is a Word shortcut for toggling between u... Obviously not an ideal answer, but hopefully someone might have a better solution. Good luck, Simon ▲ Collapse

As WF Pro became a standalone application, it looks like more editing options should be added to it...

It doesn't work. I even tried to change to my own shortcuts, but they do not work either.

At present the fastest way is simply copying to Word, change case and copy back. But I think you would agree with me that a good CAT tool should have such options in it. Hopefully this will be implemented in the next release already. Best, Natalia

I was hoping/expecting that this function would be implemented in this new version. Will you consider this for your next version please?

I am not sure if it's because I use a mac? Could not be included in the editing options of the main bar? Is is maybe possible to create this function and add it to the "Keys" under preferences? Thank you for your help
sardiniangirl wrote: Is is maybe possible to create this function and add it to the "Keys" under preferences? You can rather re-assign the shortcut. - Go to WFP "Edit" > "Preferences" > "Keys" - Place the cursor on the command "Lowercase/Uppercase"; you should now see the shortcut Shift+F3 in the textbox labeled "Binding". - Remove it by clicking on the "Remove Binding" button. Make sure the textbox is empty. - You can insert another unassigned shortcut. - Click "OK" to save changes. I hope this helps. --- Best regards, Yasmin Moslem Wordfast Support Team www.wordfast.com | www.wordfast.net

On Mac, you might have to use function because the F3 key on its own is used for the preview of all windows and shift F3 does the same but slows it down. Hope this helps! John

I followed your instructions Yasmin and it works! thank you so much. Just so you know, there was nothing in the binding window, no F3, nothing, don't know why, it must be a mac thing. Cheers
