Source text - English After a gloomy fourth quarter 2018, global equity markets turned around and rounded out 2019 with record highs for both the MSCI World Index and the S&P 500 Index. European and Japanese equity markets also finished off strong, reaching multi- decade peak levels. A combination of factors including accommodative policy from central banks around the world, particularly from the Fed with its crowd pleasing U-turn towards easing rather than tightening, lessening concerns about US/China trade tensions and the Brexit debacle, encouraged strong gains for nearly all asset classes during the year and seemingly reversed the previous year’s overcast picture.
