I found one good way to kill time in the dentist's waiting room (for example) using my mobile phone.

www.the-phone-book.com

I know some of you will enjoy this.

Best,
Dan

Wow... Feb 17, 2005

I loved this one:

The camel's back now broken, the last straw of its load blew away to sea and settled there, for drowning men to clutch at.

Thank you, Dan! I have my own collection in Spanish, I had never read mini stories in English. One of them has TWO words! Amazing... considering the shortest mini story in Spanish has EIGHT (Monterroso's).

Thanks for sharing!

Quién muere Feb 17, 2005

Does anyone know a poem called "Quién muere", by Neruda? Is there an English translation of it available online?

Thank you,
Dan

Hi, Dan

In fact I have posted lots of them in the Spanish Forum: by Eduardo Berti, Ana María Shua, Anderson Imbert, Monterroso, some lovely 'poemínimos' by the Mexican poet Efraín Huerta... I will try to put them all together for you.

Regarding "Muere quien..." by our friend Pablo, we have also enjoyed it in the Spanish Forum. I don't know if has been translated into English.

Thanks for the link, Dan! Feb 17, 2005

Brain surgery is horrible, and Chasing Frank Sinatra is great!
I think you've got me hooked... I now want to read them all!

A magnificent short one by Ungaretti:

M'illumino
