Here they investigate this phenomenon all the time.In the year 80's scientists thought if they'd allow kids to too many languages kids would disappear or their brains would explode.
South Tirol is a autonomous region in Northern Italy.Official languages are Italian and German.Then on top of ''Hoch German'' a quite different German dialect is spoken,which makes it almost trilingual.
Then there is a minority called ladins, and they have their distinct language.
