The context: The following is the abstract of a dissertation on social development, "Authoritarianism and Social Movements --- A Critical Analysis from the Point of View of an Environmental Movement Activist."
作为研究的出发点或是立场，笔者尝试整理出“威权”的定义为：一种综合偏见、意识型态、防卫机制的心理作用，其作用于否定、或试图阻绝在社会历史、文化与经济结构等因素交缠下的不同个体的情境差异与行为，致使不同思想、观念、信仰或精神、价值之间无法真正互相认识、沟通、理解，进而接受或包容；在“权力”或是“权威”的“中性”包装、滥用与误用下，“威权”经常自其“隐身处”被合理化或是正当化，而当人们欲批判这种否定、压迫与不正义时，“权力”、“权威”便又成为被批判、指责的代罪羔羊。

As the context shows that 威权 throws itself around very often in disguise of 权威 and that, when people try to criticize its undue practice, it always tries to mislead the attention to the criticisms as attacks on 权力 and/or 权威 which serve(s) thus as scapegoat(s) of 威权 just because people do not usually distinguish or investigate to distinguish the differences among these terms for their own conveniences.
So, my question is: How to distinguis the two terms when translating them.
Any sensible suggestion is welcome, even when your suggestions may be only two or three words for my information. Thanks in advance.

I try to tell the differences between these two terms by using the effects of four different parenting styles on children's development as follows:
Authoritarian (威权性) parents are highly demanding and directive, but not responsive. "They are obedience- and status-oriented, and expect their orders to be obeyed without explanation" (Baumrind, 1991, p. 62). These parents provide well-ordered and structured environments with clearly stated rules. Authoritarian parents can be divided into two types: nonauthoritarian-directive, who are directive, but not intrusive or autocratic in their use of power, and authoritarian-directive, who are highly intrusive.
Authoritative (权威性) parents are both demanding and responsive. "They monitor and impart clear standards for their children’s conduct. They are assertive, but not intrusive and restrictive. Their disciplinary methods are supportive, rather than punitive. They want their children to be assertive as well as socially responsible, and self-regulated as well as cooperative"
