Hi all,
this is from a flight manual, (translation EN > DE):
...**accountability** for engine failure on a multi-engine aeroplane in this class need not be considered below a height of 300 ft...
...failure en-route is **accountable** and may require the calculation of engine-out stabilisation or engine-out descent distance to a safe place of landing...
What could this "accountable/accountability" in German refer to?

But why would an engine failure under 300 ft not require reporting?
I'm baffled!

Here, "accountable" is really an industry jargon, and means neither reporting nor responsibility but merely the need to take into account in planning and calculations. The reason why an engine failure need not be considered below 300 ft is because it is overridden by more stringent provisions in airworthiness requirements for multi-engine aircraft - the plane's ability to continue takeoff and initial climb with one engine inoperative ("OEI") should already be guaranteed no matter what, otherwise the aircraft cannot be certified as airworthy. (Being a pilot, I just happen to know this off the top of my head).
Of course, one can translate it in a simpler way, like "...ist zu betrachten"
Honestly, German isn't my working language, I merely dabble in it, but aviation is certainly my field :-)

: Ist zwar wahrscheinlich nicht das richtige deutsche Wort. Wahrscheinlich ist eine Umschreibung notwendig, wie z.B. "muss (nicht) in Betracht gezogen werden".

DECISION ALTITUDE/DECISION HEIGHT [ICAO]- A specified altitude or height (A/H) in the precision approach at which a missed approach must be initiated if the required visual reference to continue the approach has not been established.
Note 1: Decision altitude [DA] is referenced to mean sea level [MSL] and decision height [DH] is referenced to the threshold elevation.

It should be "altitude", not "height". But I guess it's into the German anyway...
Then, I would go for Windversatz, Windfaktor, Windkomponente, etc.
