"The individuals are tightly packed, such that the interpersonal distance is equal to their body-depth" - chodzi o to, że kiedy ludzie są tak ściśnięci w tłumie, wtedy ich szybkość poruszania się wynosi zero.

The interpersonal distance is equal to their body-depth. The interface threshold was suggested to be 1.6 m. When the separation between individuals is greater than this value, their movement velocity is not affected. The unimpeded walking...

The presented model was modified by Langston et al. [2006] to include the rotational degrees of freedom. In this model humans are modelled with three circles instead of one. The three circles describe the shape of human bodies more realistically than one circle, see Figure 2. The default body dimensions and the unimpeded walking speeds of different predefined human types of FDS5+Evac are listed in Table 1.

The walking speed of an occupant is dependent upon the proximity (or distance away) from the people ahead. The inter-person distance is defined as the distance between the centers of the bodies of two individuals. The best-fit equation (2.10) for the graph above is shown here:

Where: v is the impeded walking velocity (m/s), Vu is the unimpeded (normal) walking velocity (m/s), d is the inter-person distance (m), td is the threshold distance (1.6 m), and b is the body depth (torso radius).
