necessary gap within the individual grate bar rows in steps of 10 mm to accommodate heat
expansion.
- 2 Instruction for Filling Pallets with Grate Bars
Before loading any pallet onto the Indurating Machine, it must be checked for the correct
clearance for heat expansion within the grate bar rows. The correct clearance is mandatory in
order to prevent severe damage to pallet parts during operation. Therefore the following
instructions have to be adhered to:
1. Place normal grate bars onto the centre casting leaving approximately 150 mm free at
each end of the grate bar row.
2. Fill in two (2) spacer bars of 40 mm and one spacer bar of 40 mm width at each side.
3. Push all grate bars to one side with the help of a chisel and check clearance at the end of
the row. The clearance should be between 37 mm (minimum) and 51 mm ( maximum) (see
also instruction on drawing xxxxxxxxx).
