Context? Is this travel retail/duty-free as in your related question?
Duty-free shops use different display types - backwall, gondola, pillar, etc.

Without more context, I am guessing that the saleslady steps away from the jewel case and retreats to the back wall, literally, the wall along the back of the store.

Does this make sense within your wider context?
