I think this could be something similar to the 'gunk tank' used in UK shows.
This is a plastic box with the contestant sitting on a share, and a funnel feeds multi-coloured gunk (liquid) down onto him her.
In this case the box would be open...a bit like a large paddling pool, and the contestants would launch themselves into it.
Probably needing a paddling pool for afterwards to wash all the syrup off!

Fun box....because it\'s fun to be covered in syrup and butter...and the \'paddling pool\' is box-shaped, I guess.

The term seems to be most commonly used for intricate ramps for scateboarding.
