French term

diplômés du DU laser

French to English Marketing Cosmetics, Beauty
Are they talking about some kind of certification in laser techniques? Do they mean that all of their doctors are certified "laser users"? See below.

"Une équipe pluridisciplinaire à votre disposition pour vous renseigner, vous accueillir et vous accompagner de manière individuelle tout au long de vos soins :

8 médecins dermatologues diplômés du DU laser,

1 skin expert,
1 technicienne laser,
5 esthéticiennes,
2 hydrothérapeuthes,
1 coach sportif,
1 sophrologue. "

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): writeaway

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Peer comment(s):

neutral writeaway : These are French medical doctors. not very likely. they clearly took and passed a training course and are qualified to use a laser /that is my suggestion

I do not undesrtand ! What do you mean ? University Diploma does not refer to any US/UK or other foreign title; it's the word by word translation ! What do you suggest ?
neutral Daniel Weston : I agree with writeaway, qualified to use laser
7 hrs
So why don't you suggest it ?
agree Jean-Louis S. : I partially agree. DU are short part-time post-graduate University Diplomas that provide a qualification in some particular topic. DUT (your examples) are mostly full-time first diplomas obtained over several years.
