Norwegian term

copulation

Norwegian to English Other Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs
.....deres Copulation og Ægteskabs Opfyldelse, som efter Kongel.

Is this copulation as we know it today or is copulation the same as AEgteskab and what does the Kongel have to do with it?

This is a 17th century marriage certificate in old Norwegian

consumation? Just a suggestion, seems more genteel, "marriage was consumated", At one time if marriage "was never consumated", was considerd null and void, or cause for anullment.

Thanks Leif. After "their copulation and fulfilment of marriage, which according to royal" comes Allernaadigst Vielse Brev af
Leif Henriksen Mar 15, 2022:
No, "wedding and marriage" does not cover this. Note the word opfyldelse, which also refers directly to the copulation. It will translate somewhat like this "... their copulation and fulfilment of marriage, which according to royal ...". And I guess the next word will be forordning or something similar, meaning a royal decree. "Kongel." is short for kongelig.
Norskpro Mar 15, 2022:
Does something come after Kongel.? Is it an abbreviation?
Alan Dickey (X) (asker) Mar 15, 2022:
Perhaps "wedding and marriage" would work

NAOB definition of copulation

It says that the obsolete/out-dated meaning is "ektevielse", also known as "ektevigsel" (on Wikipedia), so perhaps consummation is not correct in this case.
