Bonded warehouse, I think. Many thanks everybody. I was thinking of 'bonded warehouse', but was not certain there is direct correlation with the Portuguese as this is a legal term. I've found this site that suggest 'bonded warehouse' and 'customs warehouse' are equivalent. http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/bonded-warehous... I was also unsure whether there is any connection with free-trade zones given the context.

customs warehouses

'de regime' is a killer PT phrase - it means that the warehouses are under the administration/management of the customs-house or under the jurisdiction of the customs officer.

I'd omit it - trusting the conciseness and obvious logical meaning of the English language.

If you prefer the fuller description, perhaps you can use:

'Warehouses under customs jurisdiction', but I still don't think it's necessary to state the obvious.
