HEPA filtration may be provided on the exhaust system to prevent the environmental release of an agent. The filter units should allow access for main-tenance and be designed to permit the scan testing of the filters in place after installation, and to permit filter decontamination before removal. At BSL – 3, bag-in bag-out filters might be considered. To reduce the length of and therefore the cost of potentially contaminated ductwork, HEPA filters should be located as near as possible to the containment barrier. Bioseal dampers should be provided in the exhaust ductwork on both sides of the filter housing to facilitate decontamination.		Translation - English
Bên cạnh đó, hệ thống thải khí cần phải được trang bị bộ lọc HEPA để tránh tác nhân bị rò rỉ ra ngoài. Các bộ phận của bộ lọc phải bảo dưỡng được. Chúng được thiết kế cho phép quét kiểm tra các bộ lọc sau khi lắp đặt cũng như khử nhiễm trước khi rời đi nơi khác. Tại khu vực BSL-3 ta cũng có thể xem xét đến việc sử dụng các bộ lọc bag-in bag-out. Nhằm giảm chiều dài và chi phí ống dẫn, các bộ lọc HEPA phải được đặt càng gần containment barrier càng tốt. Trong ống dẫn thải ở 2 đầu bộ lọc phải bố trí các bộ giảm chấn nhằm hỗ trợ việc khử nhiễm.
