Source text - English
Disease and pain, and the resulting necessity to heal them, have always been with hman bengs since the beginning of time. As such, from the veryh earliest days, human beings must have been trying to relieve their fellow human beings around them of the diseases and pains , for example by massaging their aching parts, preparing a quiet place for them to sleep, and placing a cold cloth on their fohead. It canthus be imagined that people began to he'll sufferers of a disease and/or pain first b providing them with kango and kaigo' rather than medcal treatmens.
Providing care for those suffering from a disease and/or pain first by providing them with kango and kaigo, rath than medical treatments, which combines the noun te (meaning 'hand') with the verb ateru (meaning 'put'), is also believed to have originally referred to the act of placing a hand on an aching part of the body to heal it.
