Hello fellow mac users, I've just got myself a gorgeous little new macbook to replace my faithful g3 ibook, but, as much as I'm happy with its speed and features, I seem unable to install wordfast. I'm still on the office test drive, could that be the reason? Or does wordfast not work with intel processors? I open the wordfast.doc as I did when I previously installed it on my ibook (and as the instructions say) but, although I enable macros, the button do... You might need to "Allow Visual Basic projects to run" . (Or something like that). I hope this might help, or help you to get on the right track.

Hi Ivan, are you on a mac? Where's this option located? Thanks one again Diana
works fine for me | Jul 26, 2006 |
There's no reason why it shouldn't work, even in the test drive. I have the Macbook Pro and it works just fine. As suggested, it's probably a matter of Macro security. Check under Tools > Macros > Security Good luck!

Hi Steven, thanks for your reply. As strange as this may sound I do not have anything called "security" under tools>macro. It just says macro, record new macro followed by visual basic editor and realbasic editor. Didn't have it in the previous version either but still managed to install. I'm sure something escapes me and I'll laugh at my dumbness when I find out but so far no luck.

Currently I use an older version of Office, but had this problem when I tried out Office 2003 (for PC).

If that's the case I will stick to one of those. Are you using office 2004 or one of the previous versions? It may well be that wf cannot be run on newer versions, witness Ivan. Unless of course Steven provides evidence to the contrary.

Good day! For PC, it's in following menu string: please check Service-Parameters-Security-Macros. With respect, rbd

I've followed the advice of one of the members of the yahoo group and now it seems to work fine "Diana, I get the same thing on my non-Intel Mac. Follow the "manual" install instructions outlined on page 6 of version 5 of the manual and you should be fine. The only drawback to this is that you may have to manually attach the Wordfast template to each file you want to work on (or just load it under Tools/Templates and Add-ins each time you start...
