Aligning a Power Point file with Trados 5.0

A customer has sent me two very useful Power Point files (the same file, one German and one English) for reference purposes. The files are very large. Is there any way to align Power Point files? Or would the only solution be to copy each text box into a Word file and then align the Word files?

Use T-Window to extract the text Nov 7, 2002

T-Window for PowerPoint contains a function that allows you to extract the text into a .txt file. Use this for both .ppt files, then open the text files in Word and save them as RTF files (WinAlign cannot handle .txt.)



It\'s worthwhile checking the format of the text extracts - sometimes the formatting goes a bit haywire. A mocked-up sequence isn\'t a problem for the alignment process (as long as both files have largely the same structure).
