Thanks for stopping by and exploring my proz page.
The picture (logo) you see here should be self-explanatory.

Perhaps you would want a different one...but how I look is of no importance...it's what I stand for that matters. It may or may not seem like a cliche, but that is how I feel.

What constitutes my very being is:

* passion - language is one of the ways my spirit experiences fulfillment; I am happy to share that with those who can see and appreciate the value of my work.

* positivity - I truly recognize the power that clear positive vision and positive mindset have on my own body-mind and on other people. I feel really blessed being on this planet. I deeply love and cherish every minute of living here, despite the suffering that can and does ensue because of people who do not wish to grow.

* individualism - I can offer you (only) who I am, without pretending to be anybody I'm not.
You can sense it in every sentence i write and every word i utter.
I will not pretend I'm the best or the fastest or <.
I am who I am.

* creativity - to live is to create...i relish the feeling...my ambition is to help people using written and spoken words and music. At this point of my growth I offer services (described in greater detail on my website -> www.prajna.eu) to clients all over the world. Should you wish to benefit from that, please use the contact form and say "Hello Mark" :)

* honesty - when i mess up I'll say I'm sorry and make up for it; too many people of great prestige and high rank loose that quality; when i feel something is wrong i won't put a blind eye to it, but will point it out to you to the best of my knowledge and abilities and then it's your decision whether to sweep it under the rug or use it to your benefit; I don't give promises I cannot keep


That said, I'm doing my best to:

* transGreat! - and not translate (which means falling into a transe and being late btw)

It involves not only translating correctly and keeping the spirit intact, but also using the most appropriate words for a particular situation e.g

EXAMPLES TBA...

* fulfill (clients' wishes) and refill (the glass of creativity after relishing a good drink)

* give suggestion how to enhance the text and make it more appealing (in some cases)




I:
* say YES to interesting, innovative, creative projects that come into my way
* say NO to low-quality source texts; companies will no integrity or not appreciating the value of a good translation/advice ; also i will not accept offers to translate "Crazy English" by Richard Lederer...it is quite "impossible" or/and it will take "forever" ;P


Success is not an outside thing I strive for, it's the state of mind I embody.
To be successful in my eyes is to do what one loves and to constantly challenge oneself in order to grow mentally, emotionally and spiritually.


Side note:
These days, it is very popular for companies to claim they create a 'positive workspace/environment', and to state that everything about them is positive. It seems to me, it is nothing more than fashion-like phenomenon, an answer to a world demanding more human approach. Result of conforming to the outside pressure and not of an internal imperative. What's more, the purpose of some, is to merely use these slogans as a cover-up. They wish to turn the attention of young, money-driven individuals away from their unethical practices by dangling the carrot of future profits/nice atmosphere in front of them, squeezing the creative juices and using their mental energy. I experienced this on my own skin...their promises amount to nothing...perhaps it's the reason why i dislike 'usual slogans/taglines/way of promoting oneself/ways of doing things'. What is typical/mainstream does not appeal to me.

If I say i represent something, it's not because it's my marketing pitch. Mark is not into marketing that much...he's into Mark'eting though (being Mark). I am sharing my innermost truths not to entice people to use my services, but rather to show who I am and, in a sense, share myself, what i know and how i live.
Passion, fun, joy, love - how can one work without them? The simple word 'work' in collective consciousness is seen as something dreadful. How so? Have the people of this planet forgot how to use their brains and hearts to create something truly positive, which would then serve as an agent of fulfillment? Perhaps we should follow the advice of CEO of Video Professor and quit our job (from the greek 'gob', which signifies something more passive) and find our work (german 'werk'...implies more action-based approach)

For me, abstaining from the poison of negativity, creating light in my life and in the lives of others along with upholding the truth of who I am is the highest ideal, not some game I am playing with anybody. This is the very bushido (jap. code of conduct or honor code that the samurai adhered to) I abide by. Truly, it's not precisely to honor oneself that is necessary, but to honor that into which one is evolving...life is never stagnant...until you make it so, that is.


English is my faithful companion since i was about 6-7 years old. I remember one day at primary school. I must've been around 10...a guest from USA came to visit our class for few days. I befriended the young student quickly and even taught him some polish words. On one of our English lessons, he happened to be bested by me in a spelling exercise. I remember teacher was quite dazzled how could this be possible...She felt very proud of me, but from my current perspective this whole environment was wrong.
Only now I know how destructive competitiveness can be. I prefer to instill the spirit of cooperation in children (or whomever for that matter) I meet, instead of thinking that I should "prepare them for a hard knocks world".
People often say 'C'est la vie' - such is life...but if we're using French i would like to throw this in - Carte blanche - this is the state of a child - tabula rasa (a clean slate) and whatever you teach him he will take it and create a whole world out of it...figuratively and literally...so teach well.

As a native polish speaker i noticed much more freedom while communicating in English. I even regarded polish as inferior for many years...yet when I dropped this notion of judging and simply focused on what I gravitated towards, though I found myself using mostly English, I also saw the richness and beauty of polish language, that i failed to notice before. Nowadays, I enjoy using both languages and doing what i love the most - PLAYING WITH WORDS.
