Experience
Years of experience: 1. Registered at ProZ.com: May 2006.
I am a hard working, outgoing and honest person, who will soon have a master degree in international economics and a bachelor degree in French. I was born and raised in Göteborg, and I moved to Uppsala after a year of French studies at the University of Perpignan in southern France.
In the spring of 2004 I was back in France, I had an exchange semester through Erasmus at the University Panthéon-Assas in Paris where I took master courses in economics; industrial economics, european economic politics and labour market economics och human resources. Everything was in French. I find it very interesting to learn about new cultures and broaden my horizons.
My hobbies are quite diverse, when I was younger I was a student at the Swedish Ballet School, after which I studied sciences in high school. Dancing is still a hobby of mine; I take classes in classical ballet and jazz. I used to lead a dance group and organise parties for the Attraktionsorkestern, an orchestra at Norrlands Student Nation in Uppsala, and I also sat inte the nation’s election committee. I like to organise, and to work with different projects. Working at the nation has both given me an opportunity to work in a group, and to organise several projects simultaniously.
I have a driver’s licence, B, and a speak English and French fluently. I have had a good help with learning English from a young age, my two brothers were raised I San Fransisco. The and their families still live there and I would love to spend more time with them, so I have listed San Francisco as my first choice of city. I have also studied a semester’s worth of English for economists at the university, and in 1998 I translated the fire department’s official report on the disco fire on Hisingen, in Göteborg, into English. I am also working at a translator at the moment; I am translating material for a shoe shine company into English, and I am also working as a financial assistant for them. Before that I translated a technical/medical web site on artificial limbs from English to Swedish for Ohio Willow Wood.
In the field of econimics I have studied macro and micro economics, labour market, real estate economics, public economics, international trade and the European Union. I have also studied a semester’s worth of statistics as well as a semester of business, including marketing. Half a semester I studied the basics commercial law, and I have also taken courses in translating legal documents for the European Union, as well as political and economical texts into French. I am used to working with computers and I use Word and Excel a lot.
