Hi everyone.
Is it just my impression, or does anyone else think that ever since Studio 2019 entered the market Studio 2017 is getting slower and slower and crashes ever more often? Funny thing is, I´ve already bought 2019, but because it´s predecessor is slowing me down so much, I have not yet found the time to install the new kid on the block...
I´m curious to hear your thoughts.
Manuela

Studio 2017 works fine as usual. Have you checked your free memory?

No, I have not checked memory, but the computer as a whole and all other applications and programmes work fine...

Apple-inspired strategy?

If clogging old iPhones whenever a new model is launched works for Apple, why shouldn't SDL try the same ruse?

Stronger competition
Sep 7, 2018
I had huge crash problems with my latest large Trados project and was forced to repair and finally reinstall from scratch. SDL KB seems to consider such matters as routine 'workarounds' ... I doubt that Sdl has such a strong position as Apple. I ended up to doing most of the work on mQ 2015 and this time I will most probably rather upgrade mQ and make it my main tool after 18 years of using Trados.

Strategy may backfire for Apple though
Sep 7, 2018
The latest version of iPhone hasn't got that good a reception - too pricy for the benefit of the change. I am currently using iPhone X, and I've found that I would have been much better off with Sony actually. So I will at least leave iPhone when I next time feel I need a new phone.
An the same may be the case for Studio - that policy may backfire if they are not careful and ensure the users really feel an upgrade is beneficial.
