極真会館　　剛柔館山口剛玄及び松涛館に学んだ極真会館創始者大山倍達は、1954年東京目白に大山道場を創設し、65年佐藤栄作（当時国務大臣）を会長に冠を改め、国際空手道連盟極真会館を設立。
当時の寸止め空手から直接打撃を考察し、フルコンタクトを確立した。
その後極真会館から派生した｢芦原会館｣芦原英幸、　｢逆真会館｣山崎照朝、　｢佐藤塾｣佐藤勝昭、　｢士道館｣添野義二、　｢大道塾｣東孝、　｢誠道塾｣中村忠、　｢円心会館｣二宮城光、　｢芦原会館｣から分派した｢正道会館｣石井和義などがフルコンタクトを継承している。
入門者は突き・蹴り・移動稽古・ミットが中心、上達に伴い型・約束組み手、ライトスパーリングなどによるフルコンタクトの稽古となり、初段の審査は１０人組み手。
毎年全日本空手道選手権大会、全日本ウェイト制空手道選手権大会と、４年に一度全世界空手道選手権大会が開催されている。

伝統派空手で一般に採用されている寸止めやライトコンタクトの試合規則からは区別される。日本では、極真会館に代表されるグローブ、防具なしの直接打撃制空手を指す場合が多いが、広義では防具付き空手を含む。

極真空手の場合、急所以外はどこを狙ってもかまわず、素手、素足で相手を攻撃する。大抵が極真空手の（試合の）ことを指します。

恐らくZentouというのは、相撲の「前頭（まえがしら）」のことだと思いますが、空手には関係ないと思います。

In Karate, there are 2 contact styles,full contact and light contact
(semi-contact). The contact here means a style.
Full contact means 「直接打撃制」 in Japanese.

Also you mentioned 'zentou', referred to something involved sumo's fighter.
Probably it is　前頭. : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makuuchi.
But it is pronounced as 'mae-gashira'(not zentou).
Some people sometimes pronounce it by mistake.
Some former sumo wrestlers turn karate players.
