Travel After graduation I emigrated to Canada and was based in Montreal for 10 years with frequent long trips south to the US and Mexico, Central America, north to the Arctic and several trips around Europe. I then lived in Thailand as an EFL teacher for 5 years.
Currently:
I live in rural Ireland, surrounded by farms, and devote myself mostly to translating, proofreading and editing.
I continue my interest in Art by painting/drawing/exhibiting. I also keep a link with education by working as a French Examiner for the State Exams (Oral, Aural, Written) and do some private tuition in languages.
Translation Specialisms: Art and Literature in particular but I also like working in the fields of Academia, Business, Education, Finance, Law, Travel/Tourism
Because of my educational background, varied work experience, extensive travel and a variety of interests I have also completed work in many other fields, and match the style and register:
Agriculture; Advertising & Marketing; Fashion; Cosmetics; Food & Beverage & Wine; History & Geography; Insurance General Medical; Media and Communications; Motorsport and Events; Motorbike Racing; Pharma; Real Estate; Religion & Philosophy; Social Sciences.
Textiles; Waste management and recycling, and so on.
I have excellent research skills but only accept work that I feel confident about completing to high standards achieving both accuracy and fluency.
