This has now happened many times with me. I have the version 2007 and the client has the version 2010 of MS WORD. The client's wordcount of the source file is lower, while the wordcount of the SAME source file indicated by my version of MS WORD is higher most of the times. However, on many ocassions our wordcounts match perfectly (referring to the same client).

Honestly, irrespective of the version, the wordcount MUST be the same under any circumstances.
