立場を盾に強固な姿勢

日本語 から 英語 技術/工学 機械工学
「サプライヤーという立場を盾にして強固な姿勢で交渉に臨む」

How about
"Suppliers take a rigid negotiation stance taking advantage of their superior position." ?

take a hard stance

I think 'take a hard stance' sounds most natural, but it's seems stronger than the Japanese which is more defensive than offensive.
'Take a hard position' sounds stilted and unnatural to me.
I would go with, 'Suppliers are ready to stand their ground during negotiations'
Suppliers defend their position and take a hard stance when negotiating.
Suppliers stand their ground and take a hard stance when negotiating.
Suppliers are willing to defend their position and raise their shields during negotiations.
