English term

fleshy traffic in/through things

English to Italian Social Sciences Social Science, Sociology, Ethics, etc. Inquinamento alimentare
XXX's use of the somewhat untranslatable word schifezze suggests that conventional food was thought to be ‘polluted’, in the sense that it contained matter that was out of place (Douglas, 1966).
In Italian, the expression ‘che schifo!’
(literally: how horrible!) is the almost formulaic verbalization of the sense of disgust.
It is usually uttered upon discovering that some culturally improper substance has entered your food, for example an insect, in societies that do not eat insects.
The expression is thus particularly revealing of the ‘** fleshy traffic in/through things **’ that characterizes foodstuffs for Stassart and Whatmore (2003:
450), which ‘resist and deflect human designs … stretching and folding the time-spaces of here and now, ‘us’ and ‘them’.’

viavai di cadaveri / corpi (morti) estranei nelle cose

come quelli degli insetti, appunto

è un po' forte come espressione, ma personalmente uso spesso la parola cadavere con chi non è vegetariano
un'alternativa: viavai di corpi (morti) estranei ...
ometterei "nelle cose" ma l'espressione è usata due volte nel tuo testo
viavai rende, secondo me, anche in/through

Testo interessante!
il fleshy traffic allude ad esseri viventi ormai morti che per sbaglio si trovano nel cibo o lo hanno contaminato in qualche modo
