Work philosophy

How I translate

 I work efficiently on my many fields of expertise, where I can deliver quality, timely services. For this to happen, it all starts with evaluation of the vocabulary and language quality. If needed, I use experts for specific terms. I tend to always work with either new or existing term-bases and translation memories to keep consistency. I index and communicate problems easily. I finish my work with a spell check and QA. Sign-off or post-translation services are generally included.

My preferred work

I prefer fresh translations to "servicing" existing translation memories. It's also often the case that MT (machine translations) has little value to me as a source material. I work best if it's about difficult, creative and well paid jobs that require my skills. I am open to any field or service related to translations.

Interpreting

With interpreting, it's a different job. I familiarize myself with the subject and context. The right understanding generates the right stress. I convey an interpretation that is suitable to the listeners' English vocabulary and needs. But it's not just a choice of words, my focus is on seeing that the right message is understood, and that the key information is delivered.
