「よって立つ」 if follwed usually with words like 「ところ」、「基本理念」、「考え方」. So, in normal use, 「よって立つところ」 is a standpoint, basic belief or phylosophy on which one stands. In this example, however, he used this expression with a little twist. This could be translated as "the only place where he wants to establish himself as a professional is Japan"
