QUOTE The Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has assigned a registration number to AF033. This was published by official gazette on 9th January 2004. The METI-No is (5)-6794.
Since 1997 TBT (tri-butyl tin) an antifouling agent, has been banned for use in Japan; an alternative active agent is needed. Currently, Cu2O is used as a basic agent and is mixed with one or two organic active ingredients. Zinc-pyrithione has a dominant position as a partner of Cu2O. the second will be Kathon and Boron compounds. Janssen will formally start AF033 business in Japan in 2004.UNQUOTE
