Good evening, Dy!

There is a syntax error. "Konbabwa" does not take "gozaimasu". Konbanwa itself is polite enough and it is a fixed expression for "good evening".

"-chan" is a diminutive form of "-san", similar to "-chen" in German or "-y" or "ie" in "Katy" or "Jamie".

agree Indojin : yes ... just a comment: we the computer users, have started using terms like "syntax error", instead of "grammatical mistake". I guess, it does convey the meaning though. :-)

agree krishna mallick : a comment, as we are progressing more and more, the original word in English is going out.The words are getting abbreviated, which I did not see in my childhood and it surely feels relieved when the original words are used by somebody.
