The research/development and application of solar batteries has increased dramatically. Solar batteries contribute as a next generation clean energy source by creating electricity solely by receiving sun light. Currently the silicone solar batteries are widely used however, considering the overall energy consumed in order to create this type of solar battery it is not necessarily eco-friendly. Also silicone solar batteries have a high manufacturing cost compared to the electricity it produces and in order to spread the usage of solar batteries there must be an effort to decrease the manufacturing cost. As a solution there has been a focus on CIGS solar batteries. The non-silicone type solar batteries had problems such as uneven power distribution however we have solved this problem by creating a unique technology process which completes a next generation CIGS solar battery that can be mass produced.
Currently at Honda we are considering to create domestic and overseas production plants and start sales to main consumers in order to actualize the usage of this new type solar battery. We will continue to gather the knowledge and technology of our group in order to promote the usage of clean energy for the environment.

Hybrid vehicles combine the benefits of gasoline engines and electric motors to provide improved fuel economy. The engine provides most of the vehicle's power and the electric motor
provides additional power when needed, such as for accelerating and passing. Some of the advanced technologies typically used by hybrids are regenerative braking, electric motor
drive/assist and automatic start and shut off.
Regarding regenerative braking, the electric motor applies resistance to the drive train causing the wheels to slow down. In return, the energy from the wheels turns the motor, which functions as a generator, converting energy normally wasted during coasting and braking into electricity, which is stored in a battery until needed by the electric motor.
The electric motor provides additional power to assist the engine in accelerating, passing, or hill climbing. This allows a smaller, more efficient engine to be used. In some vehicles, the
motor alone provides power for low-speed driving conditions where internal combustion engines are least efficient.
Finally, the engine is automatically shut off when the vehicle comes to a stop and is then restarted when the accelerator is pressed. This prevents wasted energy from idling.
