Two days ago I translated a CV (French to English) for a student of mine as part of his class work. The next day he brought his CV back and asked me, politely and in a profoundly embarrassed tone of voice, if I would be willing to review my translation with him because he had submitted it to Google during the evening, and that there seemed to be no resemblence whatsoever between Google's translation and mine. So we worked on both versions and Google was winning for a good twenty minutes! ▲ Collapse

I just thought I'd mention that nearly 3 years after writing this article I've seen that the 5-star hotel with the badly written sales info has still not corrected its advertising...(I hasten to add that it's not the one where the next Proz congress is to be held.)
