LANGUAGE expert Jonathan Downie is celebrating a world first in his career.
Or as he might say: “Ah’ve lifted a bran’ new joab – an’ it’s a brammer, by the way.” *
And yesterday Jonathan, 26, started doing some field work after being unveiled as the world’s first interpreter in Glaswegian.
Jonathan, who has an MSc in translation and conference interpreting, was among 500 applicants when a London company advertised the post.

Let's see if the same happens for the wonderful dialect of the Forest of Dean - have translated old farmers from Forestese > English before. In pubs. Lubricating with rough cider.

Congratulations, though I do believe there was someone before you- the fellow on "Chewin the Fat" who used to translate the news for the Neds!
