अल्सरेटिव और प्लेसीबो अल्सरेटिव और प्लेसीबो का अर्थ कितने हिंदी भाषी लोग जानते हैं, यह तो शोध का विषय है। हम चाहें तो अंग्रेजी के अल्सर (मूल शब्द) को तो हिंदी में चला सकते हैं, परंतु उससे बननेवाले विभिन्न शब्द रूपों को नहीं। अल्सरेटिव की जगह अल्सरयुक्त जैसे किसी शब्द का प्रयोग किया जाना चाहिए। अल्सरेट, अल्सेरेटेड, अल्सरेशन, अल्सेरोजेनिक, अल्स्रस आदि शब्द रूपों का हिंदी में ज्यों-का-त्यों प्रयोग करना हिंदी भाषा की प्रकृति के अनुकूल नहीं है।

Simplify translation! I would like to request fellow translators, to consider not only core part of UP but entire Hindi belt!, ranging from Srinagar to Hyderabad and Jaisalmer to Guahati. While translating core technical terms. consider if translation could be more difficult to understand for the people out of Khari Boli!

I think if the content in context is a heading of the study then I think it should be translated as,"अल्सरेटिव कोलाइटिस और प्लेसीबो- नियंत्रित अध्य्यन". Please check with the content.

affects the large intestine and rectum. There is no specific term in Hindi which describe "Ulcerative Colitis" so we should transliterate this.

The idea of language is to convey the message, and I agree with Amar Nath Ji, not too many people can understand these technical terms when translated in Hindi.

कूटभेषज नियंत्रित अध्ययन तथा व्रणमय वृहदांत्र शोथ

रोगी की संतुष्टि के लिए दी जाने वाली निष्क्रिय औषधि को placebo कहते हैं. Ulcerative colitis से तात्पर्य है फोड़े के साथ बड़ी आंत का सूजन.
Placebo is an innocuous or inert medication; given as a pacifier or to the control group in experiments on the efficacy of a drug.
Ulcerative is relative to, causing or marked by ulceration and colitis is inflammation of large bowel or colon.
