saviour 救い主 説明: In Japanese churches, the term "救世主" is rarely used. The verses for Saviour is used as 救い主 in the 新改訳 (the most commonly used Protestant bible in Japan). 救い主・キリストif you want to use both as in "Christ the Saviour" but that isn't used as a name too much. More likely to say 救い主であるイエス(・キリスト)or something like that "Jesus (Christ) that is the Saviour" |

saviour 救世主・救い主 説明: Christ=キリスト saviour=救世主・救い主 この二つは別々に訳したほうがいいと思います。 -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 13 hrs (2008-12-17 23:25:07 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- As Sumirec pointed out, the two 救世主・救い主can have preferenced depending on the speaker and it's true in Japanese churches they have subtle differences in the use of the two. For example, 救世主 is used in wider context such as: イスラエルが待ち望んだ救世主、while 救い主is used in more personal level; われらが救い主. (our saviour) Both words are often used outside Bible context itself, more as reference books and commentary, especially 救世主. Within Bible, there are 6 救い主 is found in Old Testament. So it is up to the context you want to translate and how you want to translate. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 13 hrs (2008-12-17 23:27:00 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry my typo above: preferenced>>>preferences |
