OK. If the client's glossary says formulation, then clearly you should go with that. Formulation apparatus or device I suppose. Why not just close the question as you've basically answered it yourself? I can't see any reason why any points would need to be allocated.

If you like to use compounding, please avoid apparatus. I first think 'apparatus' would be most suitable, but 'compounding apparatus' means another thing.

Formulation is mainly used for 製形, so if it is used for the meaning of 調製, it means 'to make drugs into a specific formualtion'.

Preparation focuses on exact amount and forms (powder, infusion solution etc.), like in 'preparation of chemotherapeutic agent in a strile room'.

Compounding mainly refers to a bit old procedure, like mix and grind several drugs, evenly dispense it, and the like.

Of course these terms are interchangeably used in actual settings.

Thank you, Julian, for doing a lot of research. This is from a table within a document, and the document is about one small aspect of formulation (in client's choice of word). I also found formulation being used for 調製 in the client's glossary in a different word.

I am not sure what this 調製器具 does because it just appears by itself within a table as one of items to be sterilized.

This is the extent of what I can read.

In most of the searches I have done, "formulation" corresponds to 製剤, while 調製 corresponds to "preparation".

Sorry, but I should have done a little more research before posting it. Formulation seems to be the word for this type of chousei. Could anyone confirm and post an answer?
