Of course some acronyms have become part of the spoken language, but surely most of them have to be easily pronounecable? Still very interesting. Incidentally, I have a friend whose name is actually Lol, and she's really a very funny person. :.) (I wonder if we'll start making a sign language for smileys etc. too...?)
